We were delighted when our local MP for Epping Forest, Dame Eleanor Laing stooped by our offices last Saturday to join in with our Small Business Saturday celebrations and to congratulate us on our recent awards successes. Dame Eleanor praised our achievements and joined us for a coffee and a cupcake. We very much enjoyed her company and really appreciated her taking time out of her busy election campaigning schedule to come and see us.
Dame Eleanor Laing showed respected our business journey from being just a husband and wife start-up to now employing more than 50 staff and working on some really significant UK construction projects. Following on from her visit, she tweeted, “Great to celebrate Small Business Saturday with BRS Cleaning Contractors who won the 2019 National Family Business of the Year Award. I am very proud of the achievements of this local enterprise.”
Earlier in August, BRS was one of this year’s ‘Small Biz 100’ a selection of small businesses drawn from every corner of the UK that reflect the vibrancy of the UK’s 5.8 million small businesses.
As part of our involvement with the Small Business Saturday campaign, earlier this week our directors were invited to attend a lunch reception at the House of Lords. The event, hosted by Lord Young, was a fantastic opportunity to meet with a range of small businesses from all parts of the UK. We have loved being part of small business Saturday 2019 and we’re very proud to be recognised as ‘Local heroes’ during the campaign.
